Sam is currently pursuing a PhD in synthetic plant biology at the Earlham Institute in Norwich, UK. As part of his PhD Sam is taking an industry-based internship. Sam is on placement at the Kumasi Hive Biolab in Ghana with our partner Beneficial Bio. Beneficial Bio is a not-for-profit startup aiming to provide low-cost, accessible and environmentally friendly lab reagents to scientists in resource limited labs around the world. Sam is helping to teach a protein production course and running his own bioinformatics teaching course in collaboration with Open Bioeconomy Lab.
